Earlier this year, we unveiled our vision for the next chapter of Overwatch Esports: the Overwatch Champions Series. It is designed to offer and cultivate an esports ecosystem that is more open – with anyone able to participate – always-on, regionally focused, providing experiences for participants and fans alike.
In continued pursuit of this vision, we are excited to announce that Calling All Heroes and Overwatch Collegiate will return this year, each offering additional opportunities for our community to engage in the thrill of competition and organized group play in unique ways.
Calling All Heroes will continue building an inclusive environment for everyone, focusing on equity, visibility and community support for marginalized genders.
Overwatch Collegiate will continue to offer premier national competition for North American Universities, where competitive players can represent their school across high stakes semester-long seasons or casual fans can get involved with their campus Overwatch communities.
To help make this vision a reality, we’re thrilled to partner with Raidiant on both Calling All Heroes and Overwatch Collegiate. Their experience and dedication to building compelling and inclusive gaming and esports communities make them the ideal collaborator for these programs.
Excited about what’s next? There’s a lot to cover, so here’s a quick outline of what to expect as you read on.
