Stage 1 Recap

The 2026 OWCS Season has gotten off to a fantastic start. All four regions have been fighting tooth and nail for their chance at a trip to Tokyo - and the race isn’t over yet! There are still two spots up for grabs, but China, North America, and EMEA have all locked their teams.

North America

Dallas Fuel enter Champions Clash as NA’s #1 seed, having made a dominant return to Overwatch Esports in Stage 1. They went undefeated in the regular season and playoffs, utilizing off-the-wall team comps to disrupt their opponents’ game plans and defy the region’s meta. NA’s #2 seed, Spacestation, came in close behind off of the sheer strength of their star-studded roster. Their only regular season loss was to Dallas, who eked out the win in a Map 5 nailbiter in our final weekend of regular season play. The two teams met twice more in playoffs - and while SSG drew blood where they could, Dallas ultimately came out on top with a 3-1 Upper Finals win and a 4-1 Grand Finals victory to cap off the Stage.

EMEA

Our reigning World Champions Twisted Minds extended their undefeated streak to take the region’s #1 seed with ease. Virtus.pro fended off two strong playoffs efforts from Geekay Esports to meet TM in the EMEA Grand Finals, and are joining them in Tokyo as the only team to have taken even a single map off of them since Al Qadsiah last year - firmly slating themselves as serious Champions Clash contenders in their own right.

China

Weibo Gaming continued their dominance in the China region, becoming the first team to secure a Champions Clash qualification with a 3-1 win over All Gamers. All Gamers managed to steal away the final ticket to Tokyo in a Map 5 stunner against JD Gaming, with the win coming down to the final teamfight in overtime on Esperança.

Asia (Korea, Japan, & Pacific)

Asia’s regional championship kicks off May 4th (in Pacific Time), where Korea’s Top 4, Japan’s Top 3, and the regional champs from the Pacific will fight for two spots at Champion’s Clash. The first two days of competition on May 4 and 5 (Pacific Time) will split the eight teams into two groups. The two best teams in each group will move on to the 4-team, double-elimination playoff bracket on May 8-10.
