This year, a total of 52 teams competed across the Overwatch World Cup program, with 30 teams earning their place in the Main Event. Now, the action heads to South Korea, where the 16 qualified teams will compete through the Group Stage. Four groups of four teams will play in a single round-robin format, where every map, every victory, and every point could be the difference between advancing to sunny Southern California or hoping back on a flight going home.

The teams will be gathering at the Busan Esports Arena (BRENA) from August 20 to August 23. Only the top two teams from each group will earn their spot at BlizzCon 2026, where they'll compete for the Overwatch World Cup championship.

The tournament features 16 teams divided into four groups, with each group competing in a single round-robin format. Every matchup is played as a First to 3 series, making each map and every victory critical in the race to qualify for the Finals at BlizzCon 2026.
Across the four-day event (Thursday through Sunday), fans can look forward to 24 total matches, with six matches played each day. The schedule has been designed to deliver primetime broadcasts across all major regions, ensuring fans around the world can follow the action live.
In total, the Group Stage will deliver more than 40 hours of live broadcast coverage, showcasing the highest level of international Overwatch competition as teams compete for one of eight coveted spots at the World Cup Finals.

Tickets will be available here starting Aug 11th 2pm KST (Aug 10th 10pm PT).
Fans attending the Overwatch World Cup Group Stage will have the chance to get even closer to the action through exclusive Meet & Greet sessions with participating teams and players.
Each Meet & Greet is available exclusively but not guaranteed to ticket holders attending that same day's matches. Fans can submit one application per ticket booking, selecting their preferred Meet & Greet time slots in order of preference. Spaces are limited to 100 attendees per session, with successful applicants selected based on availability. If a preferred session is full, applicants will automatically be considered for their second or third choice. Having a ticket does not guarantee a Meet & Greet time slot.
Applications close at 1:00 PM (KST) the day before each event (with a special deadline for the August 23 sessions), and successful attendees will be notified individually via KakaoTalk or SMS.
Selected fans should arrive at the designated entrance at least 10 minutes before their scheduled session, where their event ticket and identity will be verified. Meet & Greets take place in a dedicated space separate from the competition, so attendees should keep the match schedule in mind when choosing their preferred time slot.
To help ensure a smooth experience, gifts and fan letters cannot be handed directly to players but can be left in the designated on-site gift box. Please note that player appearances and schedules may change due to tournament operations or team circumstances, and Meet & Greets are offered as a complimentary ticket benefit.
Join the Celebration at Overwatch Day at BEXCO hosted by NEXON!
The excitement extends beyond the competition with Overwatch Day, a two-day celebration taking place August 22–23 at BEXCO in Busan.
This free event is packed with activities for fans of all kinds. Attendees can hear directly from the Overwatch dev team during a special segment featuring Game Director Aaron Keller, SVP & Head of Development Walter Kong, and VP & Executive Producer Ben Bell. Players will also have opportunities to meet Overwatch voice actors, watch creator showmatches, enjoy live art demonstrations from Blizzard Korea Studio developers, cheer on a cosplay competition, and meet members of the Korean Overwatch World Cup team.
Fans can also jump into interactive experiences inspired by Season 4's newest hero, D.Mon, complete MEKA-themed activities, and earn exclusive event merchandise.
Whether you're cheering on your favorite World Cup teams or celebrating with fellow Overwatch fans, Overwatch Day promises to be one of the highlights of the weekend.
